ABOUT THIS LEAGUE
Pickleball Power Play Mixed Doubles Team Leagues bring competitive team pickleball to players across the country with age groups for 18+ and 50+. Teams consist of three men and three women competing through three mixed doubles lines and a nine-match round-robin format.

Each team matchup includes three rounds and nine total matches.
In Round 1, each line plays the matching line from the opposing team. In Rounds 2 and 3, the matchups rotate so that Line 1, Line 2, and Line 3 each play every opposing line once.
Every individual match is played best two out of three games to 11, win by two.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can i use the resort facilities if I am not staying there?
Unfortunately, no. Access to Horseshoe Bay Resort’s amenities and guest services is reserved for registered resort guests. To enjoy the pools, fitness facilities, restaurants, transportation, activities, and other resort amenities, you must be staying on the property at Horseshoe Bay Resort.
CAN I JUST SIGN UP SOLO?
Yes! You may register as an individual player. This is Free of charge. What will happen is that when captain needs to find a player they will be able to find you on a Free Agent List. The captains will be able to contact you and invite you on their team.
HOW DO I START A TEAM?
Simply click the red Registration button and select the option to create or captain a team. Once your team is created, you’ll be able to invite players directly through the registration website to join your roster. After registering as a captain, a Pickleball Power Play League Coordinator will also reach out to help you with the next steps.
WHATS THE FEE FOR THIS?
The registration fee is $150 per player for the season. This is one all-inclusive league fee that helps cover league administration, coordinator fees, pickleballs, and approved court costs when court rentals are needed. There are no separate weekly league fees charged by Pickleball Power Play.
CAN THE CAPTAIN PLAY?
Yes! In most cases, the Team Captain is also one of the players on the roster. Being the captain does not prevent you from playing.
The captain simply takes on some additional responsibilities, including managing the roster, creating weekly lineups, communicating with players, and coordinating scheduling with the League Coordinator and other Team Captains.
How many players do i need for my team?
Each team must have a minimum of six players: three men and three women.
However, we highly recommend building a roster of six to eight players. Having one or two additional players gives your team flexibility when someone is unavailable for a league night.
There is no maximum requirement to stop at six players, and your Team Captain will determine the lineup for each league night.
How many matches are we guaranteed?
The number of league nights your team plays will depend on how many teams are participating in your local league.
However, every time your team plays another team, there are nine total individual doubles matches played.
Your team has three mixed doubles lines, and every line plays all three lines from the opposing team. That means each individual line plays three matches during the league night.
Every match is played best two out of three games to 11, win by two. Therefore, each line will play a minimum of six games during a league night, with the potential to play as many as nine games if all three matches go to a third game.
The team that wins the majority of the nine matches wins the overall team match for that league night.
Do Substitute players play a different or prorated registration fee
No. All registered players pay the same league registration fee regardless of how many matches or league nights they participate in.
There are no prorated or per-week registration fees for substitute players. It is up to the Team Captain to manage the roster and determine how playing time is distributed throughout the season.
Because players may occasionally be unavailable, we recommend carrying approximately six to eight players on your roster.
