
RULES AND POLICIES
This section outlines the official policies, court requirements, venue standards, and league procedures for all Pickleball Power Play teams and players. These rules are designed to create fair, organized, and consistent league play across all regions.
APPROVED VENUES AND COURT REQUIREMENTS
Each team must select a venue that meets the official Pickleball Power Play league standards.

All teams must have access to at least THREE playable courts for league matches.

Dedicated pickleball courts with permanent lines

Hard-surface tennis courts with permanently painted pickleball lines and portable nets

The following are strictly prohibited:

❌ Temporary or removable court markings

❌ Gym floors or indoor gymnasium surfaces

❌ Carpet, wood, or non-hard court surfaces
Outdoor Court Guidelines

If matches are played outdoors, venues should provide adequate lighting if matches may continue into the evening.

Captains are responsible for ensuring playing conditions are safe and appropriate.
VENUE SELECTION RESPONSIBILITY

The team captain (with input from their team) is responsible for choosing the venue where the team will play.

Captains must confirm that the selected venue meets all Pickleball Power Play requirements before the season begins.
COURT RESERVATIONS AND FEES

Pickleball Power Play does NOT pay for court reservations or court rental fees.

Team Responsibility

Captains and teams are fully responsible for:

Reserving courts for all league nights

Paying any court rental or reservation fees

Coordinating match times with their chosen venue

Communicating all scheduling details to their team members

Any costs required by a club or facility to host matches are the sole responsibility of the team.
MATCH RULES

All league matches must be played according to official Pickleball Power Play formats and scoring rules.

Teams must use approved pickleballs and follow all league procedures.

Matches must be completed on properly lined and approved courts only.
SCORE KEEPING POLICIES

Captains are required to use the official Pickleball Power Play score sheets.

Both team captains must sign off on match results at the end of league play.

It is the responsibility of the captains to enter all scores into the league software in a timely manner.

Scores that are not properly recorded may not be accepted.
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY AND DIVISIONS

Players must compete in divisions that match their current skill level.

Players are allowed to move up half a skill level if their rating improves during the season.

Players may not compete below their appropriate skill division.
STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Teams that qualify for State Championships will be required to pay a separate State Championship team entry fee.

This fee is not included in regular season registration.

All qualifying teams will pay the same State Championship fee.
SPORTSMANSHIP AND CONDUCT

All players and captains are expected to:

Display good sportsmanship at all times

Follow all league rules and policies
-
Respect opponents, teammates, and facilities
-
Represent Pickleball Power Play in a positive manner

Unsportsmanlike behavior may result in warnings, penalties, or removal from league play.
WEATHER AND MATCH RESCHEDULING

In the event of bad weather or unsafe playing conditions, captains must work with the Regional Coordinator to reschedule matches.

Any rescheduled matches must still follow all official league policies and timelines.
FINAL AUTHORITY
-
Pickleball Power Play reserves the right to make final decisions regarding disputes, eligibility questions, and league rule interpretations.

All captains and players agree to abide by official league rulings.
